The Laurence House Bed & Breakfast

The Laurence House bed and breakfast welcomes visitors from across Canada and around the world. Stay in one of the area's older homes rich with history and filled with original furnishings and other period antiques.

This grand old home welcomes you as you enter the great central hallway and notice the inviting parlor to your right, the 10 foot high ceilings, the impressive stairway leading to the upstairs guest quarters, and reading center. Available are 4 spacious guest rooms each with private bath. A suite can be reserved for the traveler who wishes a bedroom complete with a private sitting room.

Relax on the front veranda while watching the sunset across the harbor. Learn history of this region and the French Acadian significance of this area from the proprietor, who is also a well respected songwriter and performing artist. She is delighted to share her music and knowledge of the area with all who are interested. Use the home as a central point from which to enjoy day trips to the many nearby activities.

In the morning, feast on a hearty breakfast in the stately dining room. Your choice of eggs or French toast with bacon, tea or coffee, juice and a smile – will be the perfect send off for your day of exploring.

The Laurence House
Bed and Breakfast is a historically significant home built in 1870 by one of the leading businessmen of the area.

Located in the heart of Cheticamp, we are near the center of area attractions, wildlife viewing opportunities, scenery second to none, and some of the best hiking trails around.

Being just across from the inner harbor, you'll enjoy views out to Cheticamp Island with beautiful sunsets.

Whale watch tours, quaint shops, services, restaurants, are within walking distance.

We are 3 & 1/2 kilometers to the entrance of Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
